Thu, July 24, 2008 
In Summary: Tom Burke caught a nice Sheepshead. It weighed in at 8 lbs and 1 0z. That makes it a citation this year. Last year citation size was 10 lbs. There are changes this year on several fish. I will list them
Bluefish-Was 17 lb now 15 lb. I would have had citations had this been the size before.
Black Drum was 40 lb now 35 lbs
Sheepshead was 10 lb now 8 lb.
Triggerfish was 7 lb now 5 lb
Gray Trout was 6 lb now 5 lb.
Speckle Trout was 4 lb now 5 lb. The only fish to go up in size
Surf Fishing Report: Bottom fish and Blues.
Sound Fishing Report: There are anglers on the Little Bridge despite the weather. They are having a little luck with Puppy Drum.
Pier Fishing Report: Avalon: Spot and Croaker.
Nags Head: No report.
Outer Banks: No report.
Inshore Boats Report: Yesterday was a good day. Inshore boaters decked Cobia, King, Amberjack, False Albacore, Spanish and Blues.
Offshore Boats Report: A couple of boats caught their limits of Dolphin on Wednesday. A few scattered Wahoo were caught.

Surf Fishing Report: Croakers, Spot and small Flounder.
Sound Fishing Report:
Anglers on the Little bridge are catching Black Drum.
Pier Fishing Report: Avalon: Flounder and Spot.
Nags Head: Blues and nice Sea Mullet.
Outer Banks: Blues, nice Croakers and Spot.
Inshore Boats Report: Action is good. Tilefish, Spanish, Blues, Cobia, King Mackerel and False Albacore.
Offshore Boats Report: Blue-water charters are catching many Dolphin, Yellowfin, Blackfin, Wahoo and Barracuda. Two Sailfish and one White Marlin were caught on Tuesday.

Surf Fishing Report: A few Bottom fish.
Sound Fishing Report: Trout and Puppy Drum early, and Black Drum and Croaker reported from the

Pier Fishing Report: Avalon: Blues and Spot.
Nags Head: Blues and Spot.
Outer Banks: Blues, Flounder, Spot and Spanish.
Inshore Boats Report: Triggerfish, Spanish and Blues.
Offshore Boats Report: Not many boats are fishing because of the aftermath of storm. The one that fished yesterday caught Dolphin.

In Summary: Despite the rough seas, fish have been caught. TW’s John Newbold caught 2 citations. A 1 ½ lb Sea Mullet and a 2 lb 3 0z Pompano. Matt Adams of Nags Head, NC caught a string of keeper flounder. (See pictures).
Surf Fishing Report: Slow
Sound Fishing Report: The Little Bridge reported Black Drum.
Pier Fishing Report: Avalon: Blues and Spot.
Nags Head: No report, does not answer phone.
Outer Banks: Blues, Spot and Sea Mullet.
Inshore Boats Report: Tropical storm kept the boats in.
Offshore Boats Report: Charters are at the docks because of storm Cristobal. It only grazed the Hatteras area. We did not get any wind nor rain on the Northern beaches.

Surf Fishing Report: Surf-casters are catching small bottom fish, small Croaker, small Spot and small Sea Mullet.
Sound Fishing Report: Anglers on the

Bridge are catching Trout, Black drum and Puppy Drum.
Pier Fishing Report: Avalon: Blues and Sea Mullet
Nags Head: Spot, Croaker, Flounder and Blues.
Outer Banks: Croaker, Blues and Spanish.
Inshore Boats Report: Spanish and Bluefish. Tilefish and Cobia from deeper water.
Offshore Boats Report: Blue water charters are catching lots of Dolphin and Wahoo.

Surf Fishing Report: A few bottom fish.
Sound Fishing Report: Little Bridge anglers caught trout early and a few Puppy Drum.
Pier Fishing Report: Avalon: No news from Avalon pier because they aren’t answering the phone.
Nags Head: Spot, Sea Mullet and Blues.
Outer Banks: Spot, Sea Mullet, Blues and aught a 41 lb Cobia early.
Inshore Boats Report: Trolling boats are decking Spanish and Blues. Cobia, Sharks and Flounder fishing is good.
Offshore Boats Report: Gaffer Dolphin, Wahoo, Sailfish and White Marlin.
