Shimano has added slick butts to the popular Terez series with the introduction of 11 casting models that cover a wide range of saltwater fishing applications. The Terez Cast Slick Butt rods feature the Stuart Tuff Butt with an aluminum gimbal butt cap, increasing the control offered by the fast action rods, which vary in power rating from Medium to XX Heavy. Like all rods in the Terez lineup, they are built with very small diameter TC4 High Modulus blanks that are extremely durable while offering a sensitive, lightweight feel. The slick butt design is the choice of top tournament anglers who need to quickly remove rods from holders and in and out of a gimbal or butt pad.
Shimano’s responsive TC4 High Modulus blank construction is a process that wraps a double inner horizontal layer of advanced, dynamic T glass with an inner and outer spiral layer of high modulus graphite. This creates a small diameter, lightweight rod that packs all the lifting power of much bulkier blanks in an easy to cast and handle design.
Fuji HB Alconite ring guides provide easy casting in a long lasting design.
The Stuart Tuff Butt handle includes an aluminum gimbal butt cap (protected here by the removeable plastic cap) and ergonomic foreward grip design.
With the introduction of black to the Terez rod family in summer of 2013, the popular Shimano series of technique-specific rods now comes in four colors.
